Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a visionary Locality Medical Director (Great Yarmouth & Waveney) & Medical Director (Standards) to join our senior leadership team.
This is a pivotal role, working as part of a triumvirate alongside the Locality Director of Operations and Locality Director of Nursing and Quality. As Medical Director (Standards), you will oversee professional standards for all Trust medical staff, act as Deputy Responsible Officer, and provide senior clinical leadership to clinical audit and medicines optimisation programmes.
Main duties of the job
As deputy RO they will support Dr Falkowski as the Medical Responsible Officer (RO) who oversees clinical governance and medical revalidation for NSFT, ensuring doctors’ conduct and performance meet national standards.
The RO oversees annual appraisals for doctors, fitness-to-practice investigations, making formal revalidation recommendations to the GMC, and maintaining robust local governance systems to uphold patient safety and quality of care.
Dr Jan Falkowski currently acts as RO for NSFT but within part time hours and this role provides additional support to the RO role for NSFT recognising the size of the organisation and number of medical colleagues.
The Deputy RO will support the RO in their role regarding appraisals, revalidation and any relevant MHPS processes as well as ensuring consistency of job planning for non-training grade doctors.
The Deputy RO will provide oversight of the mentoring scheme for doctors in NSFT.
