We are pleased to advertise an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Community Matron to join our Physical Health Team in Central Norfolk. Our service works to local and National policy to increase parity of esteem and reduce health inequalities for service users with Serious Mental Illness.

As a community matron, you will provide direct supervision and governance to the physical health team and work alongside community mental health teams to improve the physical health of all service users in Norfolk. You will demonstrate sound clinical leadership and safe clinical decision-making and expert practice within a mental health setting.

The role also involves collaboration with the ICB and partner agencies to ensure the NSFT physical health offer aligns with system progression and joined-up working. Critical thinking, effective communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care will be essential within this rewarding and dynamic role.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse who can provide clinical leadership to inform evidence-based practice.

The successful candidate will be based with the Central Norfolk Physical Health Team at Hellesdon Hospital but will visit other CMHT sites in the county.

·        The post holder will ensure that consistent high standards of patient safety, quality and clinical care are part of everyday practice within the clinical area.

·        They will provide a visible, accessible, and authoritative presence in clinical settings and related forums to patients, carers, and staff.

·        They will provide clear and effective physical health clinical leadership across Norfolk CMHTs.

·        They will provide support to staff and facilitate staff development via training, clinical supervision, and mentorship.

·        They will ensure that clinical care is based on best practice and continuous service improvement initiatives.

·        They will lead on physical health governance across CMHTs, ensuring compliance with registration requirements and quality initiatives including CQC.

·        They will support community matrons to raise standards of patient safety, quality, and clinical care in relation to physical health within clinical environments.
