We are inviting applications from an enthusiastic Consultant Paediatrician to work with our under 18s Eating Disorders Team. Main duties of the job

This post is to provide consultant paediatric input primarily for the EDITT service but will also offer support to all the community teams as required. The post has come about due to retirement.

The Norfolk and Waveney child and adolescent eating disorders service covers Norfolk and Waveney. This has a population of about 1.1 million and includes areas of particular social deprivation with considerable psychosocial related difficulties. The service complements the existing CAMHS services who manage other psychiatric conditions in children and young people.

NSFT provide eating disorders services to those under 18 across Norfolk and Waveney including a service for young people with an ARFID diagnosis. An alternative provider (Cambridge and Peterborough Foundation Trust) runs the over 18 services.

EDITT provides intensive support to young people with an eating disorder for the eastern region with the primary aims of preventing admission or reducing length of stay. This service is provided and overseen by the Provider Collaborative (CYP) for the Eastern region and was the first to be set up in the region in 2022.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Full registration with the GMC with licence to practice. Name on Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT date, and is expected to achieve a CCT
  • Registered Medical Practitioner
  • Entry on the Specialist Register in Paediatrics or be within six months of attaining a Certificate of Completion of Training at the time of interview.
  • MRCPCH or equivalent
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Registerable medical qualification
  • CCST in Paediatrics
  • Experience of working in mental health
  • Evidence of annual appraisal & revalidation
Desirable criteria
  • SPIN or GRID in C&A mental health
  • Experience in Eating Disorders

Experience

  • 3 years as a doctor post registration
  • Clinical and Information Governance
  • Wide experience in all aspects of general paediatrics, culminating in award of CCT or equivalent
  • Evidenced Level 3 safeguarding training
