Job overview

Are you looking for a new challenge and a chance to support your local community? Our friendly, fast-paced team have an exciting opportunity for a receptionist to join the Community Mental Health Team, based at Haymills House, Stowmarket.

This is a fixed term position for 6 months. This post would require Monday, Tuesday and Friday working pattern.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to answer telephone calls and prioritise tasks effectively, as well as demonstrate the ability to complete a variety of administrative tasks. We use a variety of different systems, so being confident in IT and with the ability to pick new things up quickly would be advantageous. Previous administrative and NHS experience is preferred but not essential.

You will be joining a fast-paced and changing environment using a range of clinical systems and Microsoft packages. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook is essential. Knowledge of the Trust systems such as  Lorenzo, ESR and Oracle would be an advantage, however full training and support will be given. 

You should be able to evidence a flexible response to service needs and the ability to think creatively. Experience of working to deadlines, on your own initiative and maintaining strict confidentiality are also essential.

Sometimes we are contacted by individuals who may be distressed or upset, the ability to deal with such situations confidently and sensitively is vital.
