Job overview

We  welcome applications for a qualified SCPHN Health Visitor to join our 0-19 team in  Northumberland.  The post holder will be based in either Ashington Family Hub, within an established skill mixed team. The team comprises of Health Visitors, Public Health Staff Nurses and Family Health practitioner's  to deliver the 0 to 5 component of the Healthy Child Programme. 

Various hours are available. 

 

Main duties of the job

The Health Visiting role is to deliver the Healthy Child Programme as part of a one team approach, planning, delivering and evaluating an efficient and cost effective service for an identified population, you will be delivering the National and Local Public Health agendas in response to identified health and social need working with partner agencies in a strategic, creative and holistic way to ensure best outcomes for children, young people and families. 

The HV is responsible for leading and delivering the Healthy Child Programme against the 6 early years high impact areas, ensuring services are provided within the tiered model approach- building community capacity, universal, universal plus and universal partnership plus.

They will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to deliver under pressure and able to work in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Registered Nurse
  • Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Qualification (HV)/ or equivalent Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge relevant to working with children and families underpinned by theory.
Desirable criteria

Experience

  • Experience of partnership working.
