Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen on Waters Ward at Bridlington Hospital,  for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to support the Ward Manager in a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse role.

The successful candidate should be passionate about delivering effective stroke and general rehabilitation,  and have the skills required to deliver and support their team in providing high quality patient centred care. They should have excellent communication skills and have the drive to deliver improvement projects to facilitate positive change for their patients and the team.

·       Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at the hospital site. Remote interviews will not be available.

·       The validity of Nursing and Midwifery Council PIN will be checked before shortlisting (Only applicable to registered roles) - inaccuracies in NMC PIN details will mean your application will not be progressed

·       Interested candidates are encouraged to make contact with the Recruiting Manager to have an informal discussion about the role

Main duties of the job

  • To support the Ward Leader in the effective management of the area.
  • The post holder will provide nursing leadership within this area, ensuring an effective quality nursing service, with responsibility for standards of nursing care and patient safety in conjunction with the Ward Leader.
  •  Work with the team to develop a culture of reflective practice
  •  Managing risk and balancing demands that come up on the ward
  • Communicating appropriately with all patients, their families and other staff
  • Being responsible for driving ongoing service development to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our patients
  • Support the Ward Leader with incident reporting and investigation
  • Undertake clinical audits
  • Work alongside the Multidisciplinary team to improve SSNAP data
