We are currently recruiting for Bank Specialist Screening Practitioners
We are seeking highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic specialist screening practitioners who want to assist in the continued development of the service to meet the increase in demand. The successful candidate should be an experience Specialist Screening Practitioner Registered Nurse.
Due to the continuing expansion of our current service, an exciting opportunity has arisen for this nursing position within the Bowel Cancer Screening team.
The Bowel Cancer Screening programme currently invites men and women aged 60-74 to complete an at home FIT test kit (Faecal immunochemical test kit), which if positive invites them to attend for further diagnostic tests. The programme will be age extended to invite men and women aged 50-74 over the next two years across all sites at full roll out.
Main duties of the job
The ability to be flexible & organised in the workplace with a passion for delivering a quality and successful service is essential. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required to maintain and develop relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts
You will be supported by Induction, training and ongoing development.
The hours of work are bank hours and can include in week, evenings and weekends.

We are a busy service and the post holder will be expected to work on his/her own initiative and as a part of a team.

The post holder is expected to adhere to Trust policies and procedures and relevant legislation including the requirements of any professional bodies and to attend mandatory training as identified by the Trust.

- Evidence of managing a caseload or care group in a clinical setting with multidisciplinary working.

- Evidence of participation in quality assurance, audit and research
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Demonstrate an understanding of the current BCSP and Bowel Scope programmes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Demonstrates and understanding of the impact of a diagnosis of bowel cancer.
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
