The post holder will support the Endoscopy Scheduling and Audit Manager in the management of the Endoscopy administration service, ensuring efficient and effective operational management and performance of the elective admission function, and ensuring the achievement of local waiting time targets for inpatient and day case care both across the Trust and Outreach Centres.

- To support the leadership, development and maintenance of a working environment which encourages team work, mutual support and excellence in service delivery, reviewing all current functions and practices within the elective access process to ensure efficient and effective operational management and performance.
- Work closely with relevant departments and individuals, such as the Endoscopy Unit Manager to improve patient flow.
- Assist with the line management of office staff, including work allocation, checking and evaluating work and identifying training needs. Facilitates training in specific areas of the management of inpatient waiting lists and booking.
- Assist with the monthly administration team meetings.
- Support the management of patient surveillance systems and all necessary administration tasks as a result.
- Support the manager to ensure all annual leave and sickness is managed and recorded accurately in accordance with Trust policies, ensuring adequate cross cover arrangements are in place to ensure a sustainable service is achieved
- Be responsible for monitoring and analysing all management reports including patient target lists to ensure compliance with targets and policies, reporting variances to management.
- Maintain excellent communication both verbal and in writing with Consultants and Senior Managers regarding waiting list/booking and capacity issues to ensure optimum use of resources.
- Provide specialist knowledge, expertise and advice to all members of the endoscopy office team and other appropriate colleagues across the Trust. Act as role model to inspire and encourage development.
- Analyses, investigates and resolves complex inpatient/day case waiting list/booking queries and issues/problems with a specific focus on Endoscopy.
- Ensure that all office staff receive the training required to deliver an effective and efficient elective admission service in accordance with Trust objectives.
- Support all stakeholders in ensuring that patients needs are central to the service and appropriate/timely information is provided to all patients, their relatives and carers.
- To work with the Bowel Cancer Screening Team to contribute to the on-going development of the bowel screening service in managing capacity and demand.
- To be part of allocated service changes and developments, leading on administrative systems work and where agreed wider operational multi-disciplinary tasks, this may involve work with other organisations.
