Nutritional Assistant - Farndale Ward

Job overview

Farndale Ward is a busy Acute Medical Unit. Nutritional assistants are vital in helping patients with their diet and nutrition to help them get better. This position will involve supporting patients with their dietary needs and referring to Dieticians as needed.

We are looking for Nutritional Assistants with:

Main duties of the job

  • You will be responsible for:

    • Helping patients to choose their meals
    • Assisting patients with meals and drinks
    • Referrals to Dieticians and Speech and Language Team
    • Weighing patients
    • Any other Care Support Assistant tasks as required
    • Ordering catering supplies for the ward

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Completed Care Certificate
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ level II in Health and Social Care
  • Food hygiene certificate

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of working within a caring profession
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a caring environment involving food, catering, nutrition
