**Secondment for 2 months**
We are looking for Ward Sisters/Charge Nurses to support the Farndale Ward Manager in setting up and successfully running the Winter Escalation Ward in 2025/26. The ward will be caring for Gastroenterology and short stay medical patients .
The successful post-holder will require excellent communication skills and must be able to work flexibly and quickly adapt to a new working environment and team.
If you are applying for this secondment you must have permission from your line manager before applying.
Main duties of the job
- Have responsibility for maintaining the highest standards of care for patients in the ward.
- Provide professional, clinical and managerial leadership to nursing staff within the ward.
- Contribute to managing the nursing and material resources of the ward in a flexible and cost effective way.
- Support the Ward Manager.
- Be involved with the Infection Control/Prevention Audit Programme.
- Be involved with HDFT Impact

- 2 years experience in Gastro/Medical nursing
- Experience as a Registered Nurse
- Experience as a Nurse in Charge
Desirable criteria
- Previous B6 role experience
