Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Finance team at Harrogate and District NHS FT for a Finance Manager in the Commissioning and Costing team.

Main duties of the job
The Finance Manager will provide high standard financial management, commissioning, costing and contracting advice and support for the Trust. The post holder will provide support and advice to Directors and Budget Managers within Clinical and Corporate Directorates. The Finance Manager is a member of the Senior Finance Team, supporting Senior Management Teams within the Directorates.
The post holder will perform a key role ensuring the delivery of high quality complex information in accordance with NHS guidelines and policy on National Payment System, Income reporting and NHS commissioning regulations, in order to secure the Trust’s Commissioner income.
The post holder will also support the financial planning and budget-setting process, contract monitoring procedures, and be key to the National Cost Collection process and ongoing development of Patient Level Costing.
The post holder will be responsible for providing financial advice and guidance on highly complex issues, supporting strategic financial and business planning issues. In addition under the Head of Income and Costing, the post holder will identify, investigate and advise on complex, contentious and commercially sensitive financial issues providing reports and guidance to all levels within the organisation.

Essential criteria
- Qualified CCAB or CIMA accountant or significant equivalent experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in an NHS commissioning, costing or financial management role.
- Excellent IT skills, MS Excel, MS Access.
Desirable criteria
- Use of CIVICA software SLAM and Costmaster
- Understanding of NHS Acute services and activity.
- Experience of benchmarking, including the use of model health.
