Business Support Officer for Planned and Surgical Care

Job overview

Two Permanent and One Fixed Term (9 months) positions available. 

We are excited to offer the opportunity for several new Business Support Officers to join the Planned and Surgical Care Directorate at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT).

These roles will support different care groups across the directorate, providing high-quality administrative and business support to ensure smooth and effective service delivery.

 

Main duties of the job

Each post will have a slightly different focus, offering a varied and rewarding experience. As part of the role, you will also be responsible for the line management of designated administrative teams, supporting staff development and maintaining high standards of performance.

We're looking for organised, proactive individuals with strong leadership and communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. Join us and play a vital role in supporting patient care behind the scenes.

  • Degree-level qualification or relevant experience.
  • IT Literate to include Microsoft Office
Desirable criteria
  • Supervisory or management qualification

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Managing self and teams to meet deadlines and changing priorities
  • Experience of managing performance and access targets
  • Experience of managing patient pathways and waiting lists
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of office management
  • Project or financial management
  • Previous relevant NHS experience in supervisory position
