Community Midwifery and Continuity of Carer Team Leader

Job overview
We are looking for a passionate midwife to lead our Community Midwifery team and support us in the development of our Enhanced Care for at-risk service users (modified Continuity of Care model).
The successful candidate will be an NMC registered and practicing midwife who will hold the necessary skills to act as a lead midwife, operational manager and line manager to the Community Midwifery team. They will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of clinical care is provided in the community, and be an advocate for personalised care and choice.
The post holder must adhere to the NMC Code and any other relevant documents as published by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and must work within the policies and guidelines as laid down by the Trust.
Main duties of the job
- Lead and manage the activities of midwives, maternity support workers and other members of the multi-disciplinary team in both community midwifery and Continuity of Carer teams, providing leadership, support and expert clinical advice
- Lead, manage and develop our homebirth service
- Ensure care provided is of the highest quality and responsive to service user feedback in line with our Trust strategy and values
- Work with midwifery colleagues, primary care teams and other key stakeholders and agencies to develop midwifery services
- Support the planning and modernising of service delivery as well as contributing to the delivery of key performance outcomes

- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
- Mentorship Preparation course or equivalent

- Post graduate study relating to midwifery
- NIPE qualification
- PMA qualification

- Recent experience working in the community setting
- Clinical expert in midwifery care, extended midwifery skills including cannulation and perineal suturing
- Safeguarding children and adults
