Job overview
Main duties of the job
- Work as a member of the Woodlands team carrying out assigned tasks involving direct care in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse.
- To assist the nursing staff in the in the implementation and evaluation of family centred care and reporting any concerns to the Registered Nurse.
- To work as an integrated member of the ward team, assisting with nursing procedures according to agreed policies
- To act as a host and receptionist to children, their families and visitors
- To demonstrates due diligence whilst maintaining and promoting effective working practices commensurate with the post.
- Maintains confidentiality relating to the welfare and treatment of patients and staff at all times.
- To be flexible to work in different areas within the unit as required

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Experience of working with children
- 5 GCSE grades A-C or equivalent.
- Care Certificate or willingness to undertake Care Certificate and complete within 12 weeks
- Previous experience working in a health setting
- Works well within a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable criteria
- NVQ 2 or 3 in Health Care or equivalent qualification
- Information technology awareness
- Experience of working with the public
