We have an exciting opportunity in the Emotional Health and Resilience Service for a 37.5 hour Family Health Practitioner.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of the children’s community health commissioned service under the direction and supervision of a Band 6 Caseload Holder contributing to the provision of high quality services for children young people, parents, carers and families working within the framework of the Healthy Child Programme and Best Start In Life priorities. Being pro-active in delivering the national and Public Health agendas in response to identified health and social need, working in partnership with other agencies to meet agreed standards, objectives and statutory requirements.

Essential criteria
- NVQ level 3 Qualification or equivalent
- Experience of working with and supporting parents and families.
- Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences both written and verbally.
- Skills for analysing child related situations to enable provision of appropriate advice.
- Provide evidence based childcare advice and guidance to parents/carers regarding care needs, learning, safety, play and therapy programmes.
Desirable criteria
- Childcare qualification.
- Knowledge of the Solihull Approach model.
- Working with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations.
