Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of the children’s community health commissioned service under the direction and supervision of a Band 6 Caseload Holder contributing to the provision of high quality services for children young people, parents, carers and families working within the framework of the Healthy Child Programme and Best Start In Life priorities. Being pro-active in delivering the national and Public Health agendas in response to identified health and social need, working in partnership with other agencies to meet agreed standards, objectives and statutory requirements.

- NVQ Level 3 Qualification or equivalent relevant to the role.
Desirable criteria
- Childcare qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working with and supporting parents and families
- Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences both written and verbal
- Ability to relate to people of different backgrounds
- Ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality
Desirable criteria
- Working with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of child/adolescent development.
- Ability to demonstrate awareness of the importance of safeguarding children.
Desirable criteria
- Family support in a community setting.
- Knowledge of the Solihull Approach model
- Knowledge of parenting programmes
