Job overview

·       Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at the hospital site. Remote interviews will not be available.

We are looking for motivated and compassionate Health Care Support Workers, with a passion for caring for people. The successful candidate will play an integral role in improving patient outcomes.

They will work as part of the multidisciplinary team, providing a high standard of safe care and effective nursing care.

Main duties of the job

  • To work as a part of the team under the supervision of Registered Nurses 
  • Participate in delivery of patient care
  • Contribute towards the ward organisation
  • Support registered nurses in the provision of a safe and caring environment
  • Complete the care certificate

Qualfications

Essential criteria
  • Numeracy/literacy skills to Functional Skills Level 1 (GCSE 2-3 / D-F / equivalent)
  • Basic IT skills, able to applications such as email on a computer or smart device
Desirable criteria
  • Level 2/3 Health care related qualification. e.g. NVQ, BTEC, T-Level, Apprenticeship

Skills and abilities

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing to undertake further training.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks.
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to communicate health-related information.

Knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of person centred care and the role of the HCSW
Desirable criteria
  • Experirence in health or social care setting
