Job overview
Trust Grade (DCT1/2) in Restorative Dentistry
We are excited to be able to offer a 12-month fixed term post to support the department of Restorative Dentistry. The post will be part-time on a Monday and Friday. The successful candidate will be expected to work under the supervision of the consultants in Restorative Dentistry providing Prosthodontic, Periodontic and Endodontic care in a specialist environment.
The department is part of the Head and Neck Directorate which sits within the Surgical Care Group. The Head and Neck Directorate consists of Maxillofacial Surgery, ENT, Orthodontics, Restorative Dentistry and Audiology and has its own dedicated Outpatient setting and Outpatients reception team in York. There is a very supportive managerial team and good administrative and secretarial support.

Main duties of the job
- Restorative treatment planning to include the use of articulated study models, clinical photographs and mock prostheses.
- Definitive treatment planning and consent processes with consultant input as needed.
- Clinical management of level 2 standard prosthodontic, periodontal and endodontic cases with consultant help and support as needed.
- Examples of cases will include treatment planning and delivery of composite build-ups in wear cases, provision of resin bonded bridges for hypodontia cases and endodontic care for patients at risk of ORN/ MRONJ.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
In addition to the duties listed in 'main duties of the job section', the successful candidate will be expected to provide level 2 dental care for specialist hospital based cases. Duties will include:
- Diagnosis of dental disease and conditions.
- Treatment planning for level 2 cases.
- Level 2 clinical care in prosthodontics, periodontics and restorative dentistry.
- Participation in department clinical governance and audit.

Qualifications and experience
Essential criteria
- Dental undergraduate degree
- Registered with the GDC
- Minimum 3 years post qualification
Desirable criteria
- Dental core trainee experience of Restorative Dentistry
- MFDS qualification
- Additional qualification (eg. PG Cert in Endodontics)
Communication and interpersonal skills
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in teams
- Able to establish good working relations with patients, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues
