Would you like a career in an organisation you can be proud to work for? We have an opportunity to join our Hospital Catering Team.
Applicants must have a good standard of education (GCSE pass or NVQ Level 1). Previous Supervisory experience is desirable along with Basic Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 or 3.
You will need a pleasant manner, be friendly and approachable; have the ability to empathise with staff and be diplomatic; good communication skills; interpersonal and organisational skills; the ability to work under pressure and prioritise own and other workloads; the ability to delegate efficiently.
Main duties of the job
- Compilation and management of duty rosters, ensuring adequate staff are available to provide agreed service levels
- Support with staff training and maintenance of staff records
- Basic computer skills
- Ensure all paperwork at ward level is completed by staff according to policy and procedure
- Monitor food waste levels and temperature controls
- Carry out audits
- Brief and support staff on departmental issues
- Liaise with ward staff, patients or relatives regarding special food requirements
- Ensure enough stock available to replenish wards
The post holder will be required to be flexible according to the needs and resources of the department and directorate, and may be required to undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post.
