Clinical Support Worker - Transfer Team

The main purpose of this role is to assist with the timely and safe transfers and escorting of patients around the hospital

We are looking for team players with a flexible and empathetic approach, who are able to relate to all manner of patients with understanding and care, respecting their privacy and dignity to provide a caring and confidential service.

We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals, who work well under pressure, are great team players as well as being self-motivated and able to work independently when needed. You will be a professional who truly understands the need for care, consideration and respect for our patients and maintain the trust values we expect at all times.

The hours will be between 12.00 -22.30 7 days a week

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to provide Transfer Team skills to all wards and departments across the Trust.

They must be flexible, dynamic and have the ability to organise and prioritise own workload.

Provide support to ensure smooth transfer of patients between wards and departments.

You will be familiar with, and work to, the protocols and polices of the Trust, paying particular attention to infection control, equality and diversity and privacy and dignity.

The role requires close liaison with other disciplines and the provision of a courteous, reliable and quality service to patients relatives and carers, healthcare professionals and all wards and departments across the Trust.

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of General Education to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Able to demonstrate a good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Care Support Certificate/willingness to undertake
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of practical training or education in a care setting.
  • NVQ Qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Care Support Worker experience
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in working in a care / hospital environment
  • Cannulation, Venepuncture and ECG experience Undertake clinical observation, BP & Pulse etc and record them on Patientrack
