Do you want to be a part of an exciting and innovative NHS Talking Therapies service here at Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust.

We are a successful, supportive and established Talking Therapies service providing psychological interventions for people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety disorders and/or depression. The service currently has a position available for qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners who will provide high volume, low intensity interventions.

We are looking for PWPs to work across our service. The North team covers Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough and East Northants and are based at Willowbrook Health Centre in Corby. The South team covers Northampton, Daventry and Towcester and are based at Lotus House in Northampton.

Main duties of the job

As a qualified PWP, you will have a key role to perform in the service we provide to people across Northamptonshire.  Using your clinical expertise, you will assess the suitability of new referrals through telephone assessments and provide short term, low-intensity interventions via telephone, online or face-to-face appointments.  You will work closely with Step 3 and Step 4 colleagues and external services, to support safe onward referrals and step-ups, at all times maintaining and advocating for patient dignity, confidentiality and inclusivity.

As part of your day to day duties, you will:

  • conduct interviews to assess and support the patient's needs
  • facilitate 1:1 interventions to support patient's meet their goals
  • design and run group therapy sessions and webinars
  • signpost patients to other helpful services
  • keep accurate and up to date patient care records
  • support and train other healthcare professionals

We support blended working from home and either a trust venue, GP surgery or community venue.

  • Minimum of 18 months working with people with a common mental health problem
