Hotel Services Catering Team Leader
Hours Per Week: 37.5
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 7.30am - 3.30pm (30 min unpaid break)
Applicants must be computer literate, have a good eye for detail and be able to lead, develop and motivate staff.Please note: Shift pattern is subject to change
Main duties of the job
- Must be customer focused and be proactive in delivering continued improvements to the current service.
- Have a good working knowledge and awareness of a broad range of catering practices and principles, including ordering, menu planning and costing along with having a real passion for food and service.
- Preparation and serving of meals.
- Financial acumen to manage budgets, forecasts and deliver reports.
- Have proven experience of working in the food industry with supervisory skills.
- Have a relevant vocational qualification at level 2 or above in hospitality and food production.
- Ensure kitchen environment is clean, tidy & hazard free. Ensuring schedules for cleaning of equipment and kitchen are prepared, displayed and implemented.
- Hold a current nationally recognised food hygiene certificate.
- Enjoy learning and helping others to learn, supporting staff and students.
- Be able to meet tight deadlines and have the ability to see tasks through to a successful conclusion.
- Enjoy working as a member of a team and demonstrate a willingness to support others in the successful completion of tasks.
- Be organised and have administration skills.
- Supervise kitchen assistants.
- Complete staffing rotas for kitchen ensuring adequate levels of staff are rostered on duty as needed to provide level of service required.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements of food hygiene, storage and temperature control by following guidance in Food Safety Management System
