Can you commit to working flexible Housekeeping shifts on our staff bank? We have a variety of different shifts that may suit your current lifestyle. 

The role will include performing cleaning duties according to cleaning schedules, agreed practices and protocols as guided by the supervisory team. To undertake these duties across the whole hospital site in both clinical and non-clinical areas. Working to the Trust standards, protocols and guidelines ensuring a clean and safe environment in line with the National Standards of Cleanliness (NSC) in the NHS.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for highly motivated flexible individuals to join the large welcoming Housekeeping Team. You will assist the Trust to maintain high standards of cleanliness on the wards and departments and be expected to deliver a quality cleaning service throughout the hospital in various areas from Theatres, to ward areas or public areas such as corridors & public toilets working alongside our clinical and other non-clinical colleagues to make a positive contribution to our patients and staff experience. The Housekeeping team deliver housekeeping services 247 within the Trust  and you should possess excellent people skills, have a good command of both spoken and written English, and an ability to communicate well with others. You should be an enthusiastic team player with a positive "can-do" attitude. You will be hard working, committed person with a keen eye for detail and a fully flexible approach towards your work .

Essential criteria
  • Educated to or working towards NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning and Support Skills
  • Level 1 in IT
  • Educated to basic entrance level in English literacy and numeracy
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to lift and handle medium loads and use safe manual handling techniques
  • Be flexible to work different shift patterns.
Desirable criteria
  • NHS experience
