This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and highly motivated individual to join a cohesive team of Cardiologists at University Hospitals
of Northamptonshire (UHN) which is based at both Kettering General Hospital (KGH) and Northampton General Hospital (NGH) in a NHS
locum appointment initially. University Hospitals Northamptonshire has stated ambitions to expand and fund Cardiology towards
becoming a nationally recognized centre of excellence, with a major capital investment in the form of a new, dedicated cardiac MRI
scanner already operational at KGH.
Main duties of the job
The post is for a Consultant in Cardiology with interest in PCI. The appointee will join a team of Cardiology consultants across UHN. Roles and responsibilities are attached in the document.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GMC Registration
- Inclusion on Specialist Register or to be within receipt of CCT within 6 months of interview
Desirable criteria
- MD, PhD
Knowledge/Experience
Essential criteria
- Wide experience in General Cardiology and all aspects of PCI
- Able to take full and independent responsibility for patients
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working at consultant level
Teaching and Research
Essential criteria
- Actively encourages research with junior and other MDT staff
- Experience of participating in clinical audit and clinical research
- Experience in organising and delivering teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level
Desirable criteria
- Publications in peer reviewed journals
- Presentations at national and international meetings
Qualities
Essential criteria
- Be able to listen and communicate effectively to patients, relatives and staff.
- Be able to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Have organisational and management ability.
- Be prepared to work in collaboration with colleagues in the NHS and other agencies.
- Ability to apply research outcomes.
