Are you ready to embark on a fulfilling career journey with an award-winning team? We could not be prouder of our Midwifery team at KGH who have not only been nominated for Daisy awards but CMO and CNO awards. 

Join us now as a Rotational Midwife! You will be part of a team who combine excellent antenatal care to patients on postnatal wards, delivery suite, fetal health unit and in the community. We work rotational through days, nights and weekends.

At Kettering, you will have opportunities to apply your expertise to a variety of medical wards. You will monitor patient progress from admission to the ward, ensure they are always safe and have the autonomy to work independently and with the medical teams.

We currently have on offer a range of fixed term Maternity covers within the department, these are listed below:

37.5 hours per week until November 2026
24 hours per week until February 2026
24 hours per week until June 2026
37.5 hours per week until June 2026
36 hours per week until September 2026.

Main duties of the job

As a Midwife, you will offer individualised, evidence-based care to a diverse group of service users. Your approach will be adaptable to meet the unique needs of each service user, operating independently and flexibly. This model of working allows for a flexibility, improving your work-life balance, as you'll collaborate with colleagues to independently manage your schedules and workloads.

The postholder will be required to work flexibly across all settings, encompassing antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and community services, consistently honing skills in all facets of midwifery care. Establishing trustworthy relationships with service users is fundamental, whilst fostering an environment of safety where service users are empowered to make informed decisions and formulate personalised care plans.

  • Registered Midwife
  • Diploma / Degree level qualification or equivalent

Knowledge / experience

  • Midwifery Experience within the maternity Clinical Areas
  • An Understanding of integrating theory and practice
  • Understanding of current midwifery issues

Skills

  • Excellent communication – verbal and written
  • Basic IT Skills
