Job overview
We are a small, friendly team committed to providing a first class breast imaging service. We are housed in a purpose built unit at Kettering General Hospital.
We have a breast screening population of approx. 51,000 women and also deliver symptomatic breast imaging for the women of North Northamptonshire, including 7 one-stop breast clinics per week and 150 surveillance mammograms per month,
The role would suit an enthusiastic, motivated and forward thinking individual looking for a challenge in a post that is both interesting and varied.
Main duties of the job
Kettering Breast Screening Unit have an exciting opportunity for a part time Band 6 Radiographer to join our team. The successful candidate should hold a post-graduate Certificate of Competence in Mammography, or be willing to work towards this by undertaking a post graduate award in mammography.
We are pro-active unit in implementing new breast imaging technologies and regularly perform Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography (CESM) as part of our imaging pathway.
The successful candidate would be actively involved in all aspects of breast imaging and applications are welcome from radiographers looking for a career change to specialise in mammography.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSc Radiography or equivalent
- Certificate of competence in Mammography
- Current Registration with the HCPC
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in performing breast screening and symptomatic mammography
- Sound knowledge of the applications of IR(ME)R regulations
- Experience of dealing with anxious/distressed women.
- Evidence of CPD
Desirable criteria
- Good knowledge of the NHSBSP
Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent communication skills
- Methodical with a good eye for detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritise workload/delegate tasks and ensure smooth workflow of clinics
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing working environments
- Self motivated and committed to service delivery within the NHSBSP
- Car driver with access to a vehicle for travelling to the mobile screening unit
- Must be prepared to work as part of a team
