Job overview
Join a busy and supportive Obstetrics & Gynaecology department where you'll provide secretarial support to consultants and medical staff. You’ll be handling clinic letters via digital dictation, managing procedure bookings, and liaising with patients, GPs, and other medical teams.

Main duties of the job
Administrative & Secretarial Support
- Typing clinical correspondence using audio typing
- Managing consultants’ diaries and scheduling appointments
- Handling incoming calls, emails, and post for the dermatology team
- Prioritizing and organizing daily workload efficiently
Patient Interaction & Coordination
Communicating with patients regarding appointments and queries
- Liaising with GPs, other departments, and external healthcare providers
- Coordinating theatre bookings and outpatient clinic arrangements
- Supporting the patient pathway from referral to treatment
- Data & Records Management
- Updating patient records and databases accurately
- Chasing test results and ensuring timely follow-up
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies
Skills & Attributes Required
- Excellent typing and IT skills (Microsoft Office, NHS systems)
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
