Pharmacy Department at Kettering General Hospital is looking for Pharmacy Dispensary Support Worker . 

In this role, you will provide  general dispensing and reception duties in the Pharmacy department at Kettering General Hospital.

You will also support the pharmacy dispensary team in providing a high-quality, pro-active service  that has the patient at the center of everything they do.

The Pharmacy department values all its staff and encourages them to reach both their personal and professional potential.
The in-house education and training team will support you by sign posting personal and professional courses that are available, as well as supporting you if you undertake some training

All on the job training will be provided by in-house competency based training plans

Main duties of the job

Main Duties:

  •  Basic dispensing of medicines for individual patients
  • Work on reception taking in medicine requests and answering the phone
  •  File all paperwork on a daily basis
  •  Handle cash / debit card activities when accepting prescription charges
  •  Prepare the twice daily  deliveries for the external clinics
  •  Keep the dispensary and reception area clean and tidy
  • Phone patients to let them know their medication is available.

Education, Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 2 GCSE in math and English language grade 4-9 or A-C

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Able to work to procedures
  • Evidence of: Organisational skills e.g. prioritising/time management
Desirable criteria
  • Worked in another hospital or retail Pharmacy
  • Able to offer advice on the safe storage of drugs

Skills

  • Able to communicate with all other members of the team
