Are you a passionate and motivated Physiotherapist looking for a flexible opportunity to top up your current hours or try something new, in a new environment?  We offer flexible working hours on our bank across urgent care and inpatient wards to suit your current lifestyle as we know work / life balance is important.  We are particularly looking for physiotherapists to support our weekend service across urgent care and medical wards.

The  Therapy team holds a high profile within the wider trust and is at the forefront of many service development strategies, continually developing and introducing new, pioneering prospects for the service. 

 

Main duties of the job

To provide skilled specialist physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a clinical diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.


To hold responsibility for own case load, working without direct supervision. Indirect supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions and peer review. Access to advice and support from a senior physiotherapist is available if required. All bank posts are supported with induction and supervision.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • HPC Registered Physiotherapist
  • Evidence of Post graduate CPD, including attendance at recent relevant post graduate learning events
Desirable criteria
  • Member of CSP

Other

Essential criteria
  • Flexibility and adaptable; able to respond effectively to service demands
  • Compassionate and empathetic; with a strong commitment to person centred care
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Resilient, with the ability to manage pressure and challenging situation constructively

Knowledge/Experience

Essential criteria
  • Up to date with professional practice and research
  • Understanding of clinical governance and its implication for services including quality and audit.
  • Understanding of legal responsibilities.
  • Ability to comprehend and work within the Trusts policies.
  • Experience of deputising for Senior staff.
  • Recent NHS experience.
  • Relevant experience working within the NHS environment.
  • Education of other MDT members.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of community-based therapy services and services that external partners offer.
  • Recent experience within an Acute inpatient physiotherapy setting.

  • Good clinical knowledge base of physiotherapy within the acute setting and Respiratory conditions.

  • Able to present information written and orally in a clear and logical manner.
  • Able to demonstrate good organisational and delegation skills.
  • Proven flexible working practices.Be able to cope with demands of a busy department including prioritisation.

Desirable criteria
  • Able to assist others in learning.
  • Able to motivate others and take the lead as necessary.
  • Ability to organise training.
  • Evidence of participation in research / audit.
