The working hours are Monday – Friday 0830-1700, 
37.5 hours per week

Main duties of the job

To assist in the provision of an efficient and effective Administration/Reception/appointment service with the Radiology Department.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To ensure reception desk is always covered and all patients are booked into the 
department in a professional, helpful and polite manner.
2. To be able to cover cross-site at multiple locations – Kettering General Hospital, Nene 
Park and Isebrook Hospital.
3. To receive telephone calls from patients and outside agencies, and to deal with these calls 
and take appropriate action in professional, helpful, and polite manner.
4. Book appointments ensuring the correct appointment letter and associated patient 
information leaflets are sent out in a timely manner.
5. To make appointments via outbound calls to fill un-utilised appointment slots.
6. Process paperwork for patients that fail to attend for their appointment, make the 
necessary changes on CRIS, and inform referring clinician. 
7. To receive written requests for Radiology appointments via internal tertiary referrals and 
Order Comms. To date stamp, input referrals onto the CRIS system and prioritise if required.
8. To deal with amendments/cancellations, re-scheduling of Radiology appointments.
9. Monitor the daily running of the appointment lists. 
10.To ensure that all mail is accurately dispatched for collection daily, Monday to Friday.
11.To participate in departmental induction/training for new staff

Essential criteria
  • A good standard of general education, including spoken and written English.
  • Minimum pass GCSE English and Mathematics
  • IT skills – inc Microsoft word and Office

Knowledge & Experience

  • Previous clerical experience
  • Customer service delivery
  • Telephone experience with external agencies
  • Call centre experience
