Please confirm on your supporting statement that you have your own experience of  caring for a child or young person and describe how you manage your wellbeing now.

Main duties of the job

Carer Peer Support Workers for Children and young peoples ADHD and ASD service are successfully managing their own wellbeing and have experience of caring for and supporting a loved one who has experience of a neurodevelopmental condition.  The aim of the role is to support other individuals who are caring for children and young people using the service.

You do not need to have prior peer support experience or training to apply for this role. You will be expected to attend a Peer Support Worker course if you have not undertaken prior training.

A recognised Peer Support training qualification is available.

Working for our organisation

NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools. We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

NHFT promotes a culture of learning to improve the care and safety of our patients and staff, which focuses on people who enable our Trust to be ‘outstanding’ by supporting opportunity, innovation, development and growth.
