Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for individuals to apply for the above position, based at St Mary's Hospital in Kettering. Duties will include the provision of food and beverages for patients, general cleaning as well as deep cleaning duties, removal of waste, maintaining strict confidentiality and being focused on maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our patients and visitors.
Hours: 8 hours per week.
Shift Pattern: Saturday and Sunday 09.00-13.00 (These hours are subject to change).
Weekend shifts are paid at the current NHS additional enhanced rate of pay.
Main duties of the job
Some of the main duties of this job include:
· To provide a high-quality domestic service in a way that is conducive to patient care ensuring policies are adhered to.
· To undertake all cleaning tasks by following cleaning specifications, using the appropriate equipment and materials.
· Carry out floor maintenance i.e. mopping & display “wet floor” warning cones when necessary. Shampoo carpets and corridor mats.
· Regular removal of waste ensuring the correct use of bags in accordance with hospital procedures and colour coding.
· Use all chemicals/cleaning agents & machinery in a safe manner and in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
· Undertake deep clean, clinical clean, admission and infection clean as required by infection control procedure.
· To always store equipment and cleaning chemicals under lock and key and ensure COSHH regulations are adhered to within the working area.
· To observe the colour coded cleaning system used within the Trust.
· Wear protective clothing/uniform as supplied by the Trust, maintaining a tidy appearance.
· To report accidents and near misses in accordance with Trust procedures.
· To undertake and complete Trust mandatory and role specific training.
· This is a physically demanding role which requires pushing and pulling daily to carry out the range of duties required.
