We have a new opportunity at Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

 

We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in out Adult ADHD, Autism and Tourette's team.

Main duties of the job

The Adult ADHD, Autism and Tourette’s Team  (AAATT Team) offers highly specialised diagnostic assessments and interventions for adults with Asperger's Syndrome, Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Tourette's Syndrome.  This is a newly developed post to expand the multi-disciplinary representation within the team and support implementation of forthcoming national directives around service delivery.

  • • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
  • • Demonstrate commitment to shared leadership & collaborative working to deliver improvement

  • • Willingness to undertake training and CPD in areas appropriate to this post

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Full GMC Registration
  • • MBBS or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • • Additional higher medical/scientific qualification relevant to the specialty
  • • GMC Specialist Registration or commitment to obtain via CESR application.
  • • S12 registered
  • • MRCPsych

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • • Evidence of the ability to communicate with patients, colleagues and staff at all levels.
  • • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences including courts and tribunals
  • • Ability to motivate and develop junior Medical Staff and other MDT members
  • • To balance individual requirements against those of the Directorate and Trust as a whole
  • • An understanding of the political and financial framework within which the Services operate
  • • Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA
  • • Post holder will need to take initiative and work in a self-directed manner.
  • • An understanding of the political and financial framework within which the Services operate
Desirable criteria
  • • Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
  • • Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post
  • • Experienced in clinical research and / or service evaluation
