Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHFT to work as a Principal grade Psychologist for men and women who require Mental Health Treatment Requirements (MHTR) where they have been convicted of low-level offending and experiencing co-occurring mental health difficulties and substance misuse difficulties

Main duties of the job

The role will be to oversee low-level psychological interventions, including psychoeducation, for depression, anxiety, and trauma. There will also be opportunities to apply research skills to audit, policy, and service development, as well as research within the area served by the team or service.

This part time post will oversee provision and delivery of the service, providing supervision and training staff delivering this service and working with key stake holders in ensuring the mental health needs of the population are met.

Working for our organisation

NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools. We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

NHFT promotes a culture of learning to improve the care and safety of our patients and staff, which focuses on people who enable our Trust to be ‘outstanding’ by supporting opportunity, innovation, development and growth.
