Job overview

We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to support our Speech & Language Therapy team based from our Northampton office. This post is a job share.

As an assistant you will possess a can-do, positive and forward thinking attitude to undertake this valuable and rewarding role. You will be supporting the SALT team to provide outstanding care to clients within the learning disability services based within the Community Team for People with a Learning Disability (CTPLD).

Although this post is based from our Northampton office,  there is a requirement that you would be able to travel across the county when required for meetings & training.

It is essential you hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Main duties of the job

All of our staff members must be compassionate, flexible and creative in their approach, working alongside the wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and our volunteers and students to provide quality and effective care for our clients.  You will work under the direction and support of the qualified nursing team.

Our team aim to enhance, optimise, and promote a positive quality of life for people with a Learning Disability in Northamptonshire.

NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Essential criteria
  • Working knowledge of SystmOne EPRS

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Good level of basic education (e.g. GCSE or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Experience of learning disability/community working
  • Care Certificate or equivalent i.e. Diploma in Health and Social Care (post 2013).
  • Holder of UK driving licence with access to car for work purposes
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare / social care / educational setting.
  • Knowledge or experience of Easy read/Accessible information
