Primary Mental Health Liaison Worker

Band 5

We are currently looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Mental Health Staff Nurse, Social Worker, and Occupational Therapist to join the multi professional staff team at Urgent Care & Assessment Team (UCAT) based at Campbell House, Northampton.

You will be required to participate as a member of the multi professional team providing initial assessments, short term interventions and triaging of referrals. You will have a good working knowledge of assessments, risk assessment and risk management. Working alongside Mental Health Primary Care Liaison Worker colleagues you will support GPs and other surgery staff to support the assessment, signposting and provision of information for primary care mental health assessments and queries which do not meet the threshold for secondary care.

You will be familiar with offering support and appropriate interventions to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties and to their families. You will be committed to a recovery based approach promoting social inclusion and have excellent communication skills.   You will be enthusiastic about making links with colleagues as well as other agencies.

Successful candidates will need to have a genuine interest in working with a multi professional team proving assessment and treatment for the defined group of individuals and will have experience of working with people who have mental health difficulties.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
