Maintenance Craftsman (Electrical)

Job overview

The purpose of the role is to undertake maintenance and repair tasks in a professional and competent manner at properties maintained by the Trust.

 The post holder will carryout maintenance and repair tasks which are either planned or reactive as directed, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards, policies and procedures. Some tasks are likely to be complex and / or non-routine.

 

The postholder will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance tasks in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule and also for installation, investigation, diagnosis and fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment, including, but not limited to electrical distribution, lighting, fire detection systems, building control and automation, standby generator plant, security and access control systems, nurse call systems and data communications. Provide and receive routine and complex information to inform colleagues, patients and other personnel. Be knowledgeable and conversant with technical issues and communicate and explain those to colleagues (eg Trust staff or other Estates personnel) and other professionals (eg retained consultants).

 The postholder will participate in the Trusts Out of Hours ‘On-Call’ arrangements and be expected to travel between places of work.   

Working Monday to Friday, 7.5hr per day with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Shift times subject to change.

·        Availability for on-call duties (30 minute response time).

·        Ability to work at height using access from ladders/scaffold.

·        Ability to work in confined spaces
