Job overview
Clinical Lead Healthcare
The post holder will provide robust clinical leadership, and they will support the Head of Healthcare of the Female estate to ensure delivery of high quality effective and efficient services and develop integrated pathways to support seamless service delivery built around patient need in the enhanced inpatient setting, including the implementation of systems and processes that support effective service delivery.
The Clinical Lead will help to clinically manage the service landscape, this role will oversee patient care delivery, implement practices to maintain high standards, regularly review and update care plans, and evaluate clinical outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
The Clinical Lead will take on a supervisory and hands-on clinical role, including direct clinical support, running clinics, medication administration, oversite of the Enhanced care unit and long term condition management.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide clinical leadership within the team they will actively seek out and disseminate information, governance, best practice, and knowledge that supports the development of service delivery, ensuring clinical innovation and quality. Highlight and facilitate the opportunity of introduction and development of new practices thereby supporting the implementation of key strategic priorities across the team. Support and Drive clinical changes in service delivery. By providing clinical leadership, clinical governance, and supporting junior staff, the Clinical Lead will work towards improving clinical decision-making, and patient outcomes.
The clinical lead role will focus on streamlining clinical workflows, reducing duplication, and enabling Band 6 staff to work at the top of their scope. This includes the management of Healthroster.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered with the NMC as an RGN
- Experience working at Band 7 level
Desirable criteria
- Leadership qualification or willingness to work towards the qualification
- NMP qualification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of leading a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrate an understanding of national government initiatives in health and social care and how they impact.
- Knowledge of working with a diverse population and the needs of this group
- Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating care and risk management plans
- Evidence of experience with long term condition management
- Experience of investigating Datix
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of successful mentoring
- Experience of using Healthroster
Skills
Essential criteria
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage highly stressful and emotive situations
- Current local knowledge of policy and challenges facing NHS providers
