Job overview

They will resolve discrepancies in demographic information during this process, gathering information from services, professionals and families and updating patient records in a timely and accurate way.
They will share the management of incoming and outgoing post and deal with email and patient record enquiries.
At all times they are expected to maintain and exemplary standard of patient confidentiality and ensure that all data entry is accurate at the time of entry.
The post holder will be expected to contribute to the ongoing development of the team and services, both within and outside of NHFT, by way of maintaining accurate records of referrals not received in the expected way and by participation in staff meetings and training as required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Reporting to the RMC manager, the Post holder will be working in a team of skilled administrators, supporting the team in ensuring the effective receipt and registration of referrals. They will offer an efficient, helpful and friendly point of contact to patients, colleagues, hospital staff, GP practices and other clinical and non-clinical professionals.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good standard of education GCSE or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- NVQ or equivalent in Administration/customer service
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
Desirable criteria
- Working knowledge of NHS systems
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in an admin role in an office environment
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Experience of managing telephone calls from customers/service users
- Able to prioritise workload and be flexible
