Job overview
Accountable to the HART & Special Operations Managers, the post holder will Manage the development of training across the Specialist Response capabilities including; The training of acute hospital CBRN instructors and Exercising as part of demonstrating the Trust’s ability to maintain approved levels of operational readiness and compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, and the NHS’ Emergency Preparedness Resilience Response (EPRR) Core Standards.
The SORT Training Manager will be responsible for ensuring that EMAS maintain compliance with key quality and workforce requirements as defined by both the Trust and the NHS Emergency Capabilities Unit (NECU) on behalf of NHS England in respect of HART, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) and Marauding Terrorist Attack (MTA) responders, whilst operating within the budget allocation as agreed by Special Operations Manager
Main duties of the job
The skills and qualities that are essential to success of this new post include a background in several areas, including Training Needs Analysis, development of complex training schedules and delivery of education to a wide range of delegates.
Experience of working and decision making at the Tactical level (A4C Band 7 or equivalent experience) will enable the successful applicant to work closely with a wide range of directorates and work streams, engage with key stakeholders and multi-agency partners to enable the Trust to deliver the highest quality of training possible.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Develop, design and ensure safe effective delivery of a wide range of exercises with associated aims and objectives
Responsible for the preparation, delivery and assessment of specialist training in line with national educational standards
Delivery of presentations as a subject matter expert to key stakeholders
To model a collaborative and influencing style of working, negotiating with others to achieve the best outcome
Manage and plan the CBRN Train the Trainer events for the Acute Hospital Trusts

- • Educated to degree Level or equivalent experience
- • Recognised training qualification
