Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Podiatrists to join our podiatry team in South,  Bassetlaw and Mansfield and Ashfield areas of Nottingham.

    • 2 x WTE posts 
    • 1 x 0.8 WTE post 
    • Podiatry Preceptorship Programme.

The role will include working across a variety of community and domiciliary settings, providing  foot care management. You must have the ability, means and willingness to travel between multiple sites to carry out duties.

This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of £2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust.  This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period.  This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust.

As a member of Nottinghamshire Podiatry Services you would have the opportunity to -

  • Mentorship to complete Podiatry Preceptorship Programme fulfilling competency in nail surgery, MSK and wound care.
  • Opportunities to rotate into Podiatric Surgery, Community based Foot Protection Team and Diabetic MDT hospital based clinics.
  • Work in a variety of clinical settings within the Nottinghamshire area, both domiciliary, clinical and hospital settings. Must be able to meet the physical and travel requirements of the position.
  • Nottinghamshire provides quality care to patients on a needs-based service.
  • As a member of the team you would be expected to provide assessment, diagnosis and implementation of individual treatment plans for patients, and discharge following a set criteria.
  • Support to complete nail surgery competency.
  • All applicants will have full and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and hold a Degree or Diploma in Podiatric Medicine and a certificate for Local Anaesthesia or working towards. New or final year podiatry students welcome to apply.
  • An annual appraisal and personal development plan.
  • You will be provided with peer support, continued professional development and regular clinical supervision. 
  • Attendance at Nottinghamshire wide team meetings and training days including POMs and LA updates.
  • Internal opportunities for career advancement.

To be part of a highly motivated team, with mentorship working within a team and/or independently in both community, patients residence,  and acute settings, providing a high quality of clinical care.

To develop and implement individualised care programmes for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs, including acute or chronic, neuropathies, chronic diseases, vascular problems, wound management, MSK and Nail Surgery.

The post holder will be expected to plan and manage the caseload with the mentorship and support of a senior podiatrists.

Instruct clients and carers, providing direction and guidance on a range of Podiatry interventions independently with a variety of clinical settings including patients place of residence.

To assist colleagues with challenging clients or those with complex needs who require more than one person to treat.

To use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with clients, relatives and carers. This will include clients who may have difficulties in understanding or with barriers to communication.

To provide administrative support to the Department duties e.g. maintaining stock levels and patient appointment bookings.

To access computer systems including Systmone, for the recording and actioning of patient information and treatment activity.

To submit accurate records of sickness, lieu time, study, expenses and annual leave.

To comply with the organisational and departmental policies and procedures and to be involved in reviewing and updating as required.
