Job overview

The MSK and Major Trauma directorate is advertising for a Service General Manager to lead the Elective Orthopaedics and Sports and Exercise Medicine services at NUH. This role is primarily based at Nottingham City Hospital, but the post holder will be expected to work at Queen’s Medical Centre and the Nottingham Treatment Centre as required.

Main duties of the job

As Service General Manager (SGM) you will be responsible and accountable for the operational management and performance of Elective Orthopaedics and Sports and Exercise Medicine, providing strong visible leadership in partnership with the Head of Service and nursing lead, driving through ambitious targets to continually improve operational and financial performance. This will be a high profile role and would suit a highly experienced service manager looking for a development opportunity or an existing SGM wanting to gain experience in another specialty. It also provides the opportunity for someone to gain direct operational experience within this large acute trust.
