An exciting substantive opportunity has arisen for a Nursing Administrator in the Adult Emergency Department for 22.5 or 23 hours per week, due to promotion of the current post holder
We looking for a dynamic, hardworking and enthusiastic individual to work alongside The Band 7 team
The hours will be based on working 7.5 hour days, Monday - Sunday from 0700-1500 and all of this will be working on site in the Emergency Department
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and conscientious team player with excellent organisational and communication skills.
The successful candidate will have experience in the use of computer systems such as Microsoft office, word and excel. Experience of hospital systems such Eroster, Trac and Integra would be desirable, but not essential as training will be given.
You must also be able to prioritise your workloads, use your own initiative and judgement.
You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality, as well as being motivated and reliable.

Some of the main duties are but not restricted to as per the below:
To liaise with department charge nurses and pay services in the completion of unsocial hours payments. Notifying pay services of sickness, maternity, annual and special leave.
To compile monthly figures for staff sickness, study etc as required by the Manager.
To assist the charge nurses in ensuring Electronic rosters are performed to the specified timeline.
To support charge nurses in effective collection and inputting of data of ward productivity incorporating patient compliments.
To manage and update the electronic diaries of the charge nurses and to make appointments, arrange meetings and venues and inform all interested parties and attendees.
To arrange, co-ordinate, and service department meetings, produce agendas and minutes for distribution to members and action any items as required.
Word processing of complex correspondence and documents as required.
To keep ward procedure files up-to-date.
To maintain agency staff records and check invoices correspond with time sheets for authorisation of payment by matron.
Assist the senior team in organising annual appraisals. Ensure relevant paperwork is available and records are maintained.
Assist with recruitment and selection of new staff, including arranging and preparing interview packs, venues, authorising ID badges

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level including Maths and English grade 4 and above
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in administration or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 1 years typing & admin experience.
- Experience in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point
- Demonstrate understanding of patient/client confidentiality
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working in the NHS
- Working knowledge of Nervecentre and E-Roster, MEDWAY
