We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Contract Monitoring Manager to join our Estates & Facilities team. This position will be based at the National Rehabilitation Centre, Standard Hall Rehabilitation Estate near Loughborough

As Contract Monitoring Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance and compliance of key outsourced contracts across Estates and Facilities services. You’ll ensure that service providers meet agreed standards, KPIs, and statutory obligations, while driving continuous improvement and value for money.

About You:

Proven experience in contract management, ideally within NHS or public sector estates/facilities.

Strong understanding of service level agreements (SLAs), KPIs, and compliance frameworks.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to analyse data and produce clear, actionable reports.

Relevant qualifications in contract management, facilities management, or a related field.

Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against contractual obligations.

Lead regular contract review meetings and audits.

Collaborate with operational teams to resolve issues and escalate risks.

Maintain accurate records and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

Support procurement and tendering processes where required.

Champion sustainability, safety, and service excellence across all contracts

Person specification

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree in Estates, Facilities, Engineering, or related field
  • Further specialist knowledge, facilities management knowledge
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a professional qualification or relevant experience in the specific discipline at a comparable level for a proven significant time
  • Sustained record of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM)
  • Membership of relevant professional body (e.g., IWFM, RICS)
  • Knowledge of HTM/HBN/CIBSE guidance

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience managing large-scale contracts
  • Experience in budget management and cost control
  • Staff management and team leadership
  • Understanding of statutory compliance in estates and facilities
  • Proven track record of managing a variety of projects
  • A good overall understanding of the following engineering specialities (Generator & Battery Services, Electrical Inspection & Testing, Fire Alarm Systems, Emergency Lighting Systems, Ventilation Systems, BMS Systems)
Desirable criteria
  • NHS or healthcare sector experience
  • Experience with lease management
  • Experience in Facilities Management environment – particularly related to health care.

Communication and Relationships

Essential criteria
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication,
  • Ability to influence and work across organisational collaboration
  • Utilise persuasive, motivational and negotiating skills with empathy, to engage effectively with NUH colleagues, Staff Side, contractors and suppliers, in negotiations.
  • The postholder will be required to liaise and work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teams, external professional design consultants and contractors if and when required.

Analyticl and Judgement

Essential criteria
  • The ability to interpret complex data, apply contract law, and produce performance reports aligns with the strategic decision-making expected at this level.
  • Ability to negotiate commercial contracts
