Detailed job description and main responsibilities

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To maintain a clean and tidy environment (office, storeroom, side rooms, bays, patient areas, lounges, bed areas, treatment room, sluice)

 2. To clean equipment as and when required and ensure ready for use

 3. To ensure all equipment sent for repair and yearly PAT tests undertaken

 4. To manage ward linen and laundry supply

 5. To assist with the daily health and safety checks, i.e. have an awareness of health and safety issues and report accordingly.

 6. To keep the treatment room / utility room stocked with equipment

 7. To work with Material management to ensure correct stock levels maintained and that stock is correctly stored and maintained

 8. To assist in the order of non - stock goods by liaising with procurement and using E series

 9. To maintain lost property

 10. To help prepare and clean the bed areas for admissions and following discharge.

 11. To make beds and clear bed spaces daily.

 12. To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required

 13. To monitor the ward environment, co-ordinate any repairs by liaising with the estates department and to take follow up action as necessary to ensure that tasks are completed.
