Applicants must be employed with an Acute Trust based in the Midlands and work within the Neurosurgical Department.

The roles will be appointed for a period of 9 months. The notice period will be 3 months. Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) is the host provider for the Network team. The post-holder will remain an employee of their employing organisation. The duties and responsibilities of the post will however be undertaken in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and practices of the trust that they are based with, which may be amended from time to time

 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

- To support the implementation quality and service improvement initiatives in the Midlands 
Neurosurgery Network in conjunction with other members of the Network Team including 
representative clinicians and allied health professionals.
- To disseminate network developments and plans to colleagues within the Trust and external 
stakeholders.
- To act as a point of contact for Trust quality and service improvement leads and Trust team 
on network developments such as pathway redesign, resolve challenges with pathways and 
support new initiatives within the ODN priority plans.
- To support the proactive development and implementation of local and regional quality and 
service improvement projects and improvements within Neurosurgery establishing clear 
links with key staff and groups acting as a conduit for the network.

The individual will be working with the Neurosurgery Clinical Lead and Operational Manager within 
their delegated Trust, however theses posts are reporting directly to the Neurosurgery ODN.

To participate in and support the Network Quality and Service Improvement Group.

To promote service redesign and change management methodology working with GIRFT, 
Neurosurgery Specification and NHSE leads.

To support the delivery of training within trusts in conjunction with members of the Network 
management team.

To collate relevant quality and service improvement data and provide summative reports and 
presentations as required to evidence base key outcomes for patients and to inform business 
cases.

To support the implementation of the Network work plan, self-assessment process, quality 
and service improvement programme and any other agreed work streams.

To support the development of relevant Network policies and procedures in association with 

the Network team and key stakeholders.

To support the network team to maximise operational effectiveness and consistency, ensure 
equitable access to services, improve the quality of care and manage patient flows across the 
network. 

Work with patient groups to improve quality of care and to compile patient stories and work 
with governance teams dealing with serious untoward incidents.
