Would you like an opportunity  to train in Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician?

In this role you will train as and complete the necessary qualifications to register and work as a pharmacy technician.

This Advanced Apprentice post is designed to give the trainee the technical experience and knowledge to be able to register and work as a Pharmacy Technician on completion of the two year training post and final assessment.

You will possess 5 G.C.S.Es or equivalent at grade 4 (C ) or above to include English (language), Maths and two science subjects (duel award sciences acceptable). You must also meet the entry requirements for the Advanced Apprenticeship Framework.

You will be starting in October for a fixed 2 year  term until October 2027.

 

Main duties of the job

To achieve the qualification requires participation and completion of a rigorous training and competency program (level 3 apprenticeship standard/pharmacy technician integrated) covering the various areas of pharmacy including dispensaries, wards, production units and pharmacy stores.  

Over the rotation period you will gain the skills to accurately assemble medicines for prescriptions, provide medicines management for patients on a ward, thereby contributing to a safe and effective pharmacy service.

No previous experience in Pharmacy is required as full training will be given. We are looking for applicants who are eager to learn, able to organise and prioritise own work to meet deadlines, and able to work using own initiative.
