An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic people to join our team at NUH providing Phlebotomy services to all ward areas, clinics and outpatients departments on both of our campuses, including the Treatment centre.

Phlebotomy is the skill of obtaining a blood sample by using varying techniques and equipment, whilst following trust guidance and policy.
The teams provide a warm and welcoming supportive learning environment and share a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Previous experience working as a Phlebotomist is not required as full supervised training will be provided.

Excellent communication skills along with a pleasant , friendly and understanding disposition are essential for this role and previous experience of working with the general public would be an advantage.
This role will require the post holder to wear personal, protective, equipment (PPE) including masks, aprons and gloves as per trust guidance.
You must be able to work in a fast paced, high demand environment which sees a high turn over of patients daily.

- GCSE grades A-C or equivalent in English and Maths.

- venepuncture certification or exposure
Experience

- You will have a genuine interest in a career working in frontline services for people
- Knowledge of the Phlebotomy role
- Able to follow a full venepuncture-training programme

- NHS experience or similar health care environment

- Must be able to work at either campus including the QMC, CITY and Treatment Centre, as the service requires
- Ability to work flexibly including weekends and Bank Holidays
- Must be able to cover the full shift pattern within the service ranging from Monday to Sunday, 7am -19:00
