Trosolwg o'r swydd
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for us to recruit to a Band 6 Prehabilitation Exercise Professional (Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist) to work in the award winning Prehabilitation Service at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust.
NUH launched its Cancer Prehabilitation service in April 2022 and since then has supported over 1700 patients to prepare and optimise their health and wellbeing ahead of major surgery. The service has recently expanded its scope to also include support for people preparing for radical radiotherapy treatment.
A large focus of the service is based on improving the cardiovascular fitness of each patient by providing high quality, evidence based, intensive exercise interventions.
Prehabilitation aligns with the fundamental strategies and ambitions of NHS England, Nottinghamshire ICS and NUH and is underpinned by NUH’s clear commitment and investment into Health Promotion and Prevention Strategy.
You will be supported by the Prehab Team lead, Matron and Head of Service. You will also work closely with other professionals from across clinical specialities including Cancer Nurse Specialists and with Exercise Practitioners at venues across Nottinghamshire.
The post holder will have a degree or MSc in Physiotherapy with a HCPC registration or hold an equivalent qualification as an Exercise Physiologist. They will have some knowledge and interest in oncology and cancer care and expertise in exercise prescription.
