Static Band 5 OT HCOP
Band 5
Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a static Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our HCOP Team. A passion for working with and improving outcomes for frail older adults is essential for this role.
The Team covers 9 wards across QMC and City campus including acute wards, medically fit wards and the Medical Mental Health Unit with emphasis on Dementia and Delirium, which means our caseload is really varied.
You will be supported to develop specialist skills for the complex assessment and treatment and rehabilitation of Older People with complex physical, cognitive and social needs, ensuring a holistic and patient centred approach to therapy. We work closely with system partners and endeavour towards excellence in discharge from the acute setting.
We pride ourselves on working in collaboration with our Physio colleagues and are striving towards developing as an inter-professional therapy service. The HCOP Therapy service has active engagement with the specialty and is valued and recognised by colleagues in the MDT. We are always looking at ways to expand and improve our service in line with local and national initiatives.
Main duties of the job
This post would allow the successful candidate to consolidate skills in the specialism of older people and be a consistent team member who can provide peer support to new and rotational staff and students.
Being a static team member will allow you to engage in long term service improvement projects and have influence on the direction of the team. You would receive a comprehensive induction to the Trust and to the team and be offered regular clinical supervision, as well as an annual personal development review. Our Team is also supported by Clinical Lead and a Clinical Academic.
We welcome applications from experienced therapists looking for a new challenge, as well as those who might be looking for their first role as an Occupational Therapist. NUH offers an excellent preceptorship programme for newly registered therapists.
Working for our organisation
With over 19,000 staff, we are one of the biggest employers in the city with a central role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our local population. We play a leading role in research, education and innovation.
Come and join our wonderful team at NUH. We are big believers in diversity and welcome new ideas to help develop our team in order to deliver world class healthcare to the vast patient populations we serve. With endless personal development opportunities available, at NUH we will endeavour to turn your job into a career!
